matthall.jpg On behalf of the over 240 members and apprentices here in the Aloha Section PGA I would like to welcome you to the Islands and to golf in paradise. This is our first issue in which the Aloha Section PGA has partnered with Maui Golf Review, and we could not be happier. We are excited to have the opportunity to showcase tournament highlights from our Aloha Section Professionals, Spotlights on some of our amazing professionals, and what we are doing here in the community.

The Aloha Section PGA is committed to growing the game here in Hawaii. With exciting programs such as our Play Golf America days, our involvement with junior and high school golf, our Aloha Section PGA Foundation continues to provide scholarships.

In this issue you will see a spotlight on our 2007 Golf Professional of the Year, Jerry King. Jerry exemplifies what a PGA Member is all about. He is a dedicated professional who not only tries to grow the game with those whom he instructs, but has become extremely involved in our education and allowing other professionals to have access to learning and making themselves better as instructors and as golf professionals.

We are also pleased to announce our two new inductees into the Hawaii Golf Hall of Fame, Brandan Kop and Lori Castillo. This is the highest honor one can receive here in the Aloha Section, and these two individuals are more than deserving of this accolade.

Please enjoy this issue and golf in the Aloha State. We are proud to share the great game of golf with all of you.

Kindly,
Matthew Hall, PGA
President
Aloha Section PGA
