I paid a visit to Marry Helle at Wailea Old Blue today and he said play has picked up this week. He had over 150 golfers on S. Maui’s first resort course yesterday, and expected about the same today.
The Dunes is also doing well, not only because of Kahili’s recent mudslides, but because we just have a lot of visitors on Maui right now. I’d say a large number of them are either from California or Canada. I have sold 40 rounds of discount golf to 95% Canadians. They read, think, and search for bargains. Most of our fellow countrymen just squander their money and almost enjoy being ignorant! Ugh.
