This website is an extension of a Valley Isle golf guide known as the Maui Golf Review. Maui Golf Review LLC, was founded by John Byrne in 1995, and is both a print and online resource. It is ever-evolving and was, at one time, also known as the Island Golf Review.
Printed on 100# glossy cover and 80# glossy text #2 coated stocks, the Maui Golf Review is Hawaii’s only full-size golf periodical magazine. It has received numerous prestigious Hawaiian awards such as the Hawaii Publishers Association’s Pai Award for “Best Directory” and “Best Cover Design”.
In 2009, John Byrne won the American Advertising Federation’s First Place Pele (a.k.a. Clio) Award for his 8″ x 10″ sheet film image of the 18th hole at the King Kamehameha Golf Club.
Maui Golf Review is also the only golf periodical in Hawaii recognized and supported by the Aloha Section of the PGA of America.
Articles and editorial written and published on this website, and inside the printed version of Maui Golf Review, are contributed by many sources including the HSJGA, the ASPGA, and other governing bodies in golf here in the islands.
